Originally home to several Indian tribes, including the Catawba, the Creek, and the Cherokee, Travelers Rest gained notoriety as a stopover for weary travelers and livestock drovers.
THE MUSEUM:

The History Museum is open Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
